Now all we need to do is convince population how important and imperative it is to prevent further deforestation
We should create an atmospheric moisture transport map of the planet depicting potential rain transport regions that correlate with existing rain forest type regions even smaller microcasm scale. And maybe how to coax pevailing atmospheric winds to move that moisture to regions in dire need Best Cliff Krolick
I live in Belize. Every year we get about 50 weather systems originating in the Sahel that are critical for our wet season. A lot of the Saharan dust carries hitchikers like insects and fungi between continents. Everything is connected.
thank you for this article and for sharing those resources! I will be going on a rabbit hole of research on these topics! wish for more people to discover these resources as well. I was just talking with a friend today about how I was concerned that AI datacenters that are popping up everywhere in rural America are guzzling down tens of millions of gallons of water each day, and he said, "well, it's ok, because water is recyclable!" ...I wasn't sure what to say to that, and just let the conversation shift topics.
Data centers are a big problem, thats getting worse....... In terms of forests and fires, forests can create internal humidity cycles, so they can prevent wildfires. However monoculture plantations of non-indigenous trees can sometimes make wildfires worse, as say eucalyptus plantations in Spain.
Good Thinking! Connecting the dots!

yeah creating a pretty map would be good.
Wonderful Article! Thank you! This is so important for the world to understand!
thanks appreciate that.
Another very important post, Alpha. You rock!
thanks!

Yes, what happens in Africa impacts South America

Anyway, this is kinda unrelated but wanted to share this article I saw from Scientific American that I thought was pretty bonkers. Curious what you think of it and the UN-affiliated research that the article is citing: https://subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eenews/2025/06/05/forest-preservation-can-worsen-climate-change-un-affiliate-says-00387962

sorry, I think this is a better link to the article: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/forest-preservation-tree-planting-could-actually-worsen-climate-change/
