Thank you so much for the transcript Alpha, I never make the time to listen to these things so appreciate it. Very interesting interview and that comment about Pat Keys piqued my interest - have you covered this or interviewed him?

Lots of current news here in the Philippines about water issues, I think they're about to start work on a big dam project to provide water to the capital city Manila. It will displace the indigenous people in that area. Also Laguna lake, which Manila sits around is very quickly becoming a septic tank.

Meanwhile the small reforestation project in the mountains above Manila which could help with a lot of flooding issues sits quietly, struggling. Government is more interested in development of course, more roads, more buildings, more jobs.

Lots of flooding in Manila, it's rainy season and we have ginormous quantities of rain dumped in very short periods of time. Parts of the city could be subsiding.

This weekend I worked to dump 5 wheelbarrows full of tank water on the beautiful tree out front that takes all the afternoon sun and is clearly suffering….during winter I should add.

I’m planning to do this each weekend for the next six weeks in the hope the yellowing leaves will rejuvenate and prepare it for summer.

What I’m saying is … I’m watching this tree struggle to survive.
