As a Floridian, I'm interested in the conversation on lessening hurricanes. Have you written any articles about that??

Just a little bit "As Ties and his team explored more the ripple effects of their regreening effort, they realized it would not just shift the weather patterns in the Sinai but also in neighboring regions. As the vegetated land slows and stops the wind, less water vapor is blown out to the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. That water vapor is instead redirected to Northern Africa, Israel and Lebanon, creating rains there. Having less water blown into the Indian Ocean could lead to less cyclones and monsoons there" in the article https://climatewaterproject.substack.com/p/regreening-the-sinai-interview-with

Thank you for sharing the video! Wow, I never thought about the connection between deforestation in the Amazon and more intense hurricanes in the U.S... I think if more Americans knew about this connection and how it personally affected them, they would care a lot more about the restoration of forests, since hurricanes, especially this season, have been such a big concern for those of us in the Southeast. Most people funnel their anger/frustration about the increased intensity of hurricanes on the oil industry, and it would be nice to get the public awareness to funnel more of that energy into reforestation efforts.... Also super interesting to learn about the landscape traps, such as those of the degraded forests in the U.S. Pacific West. That makes me wonder if it's not enough to just plant more trees, what else should we be doing to restore those ecosystems?.....

I really liked Jon Schull's synthesis of all the info at the end of the video: "Life is producing the planetary climate that makes life do well, unless we push the limits."
