Love the talk. Biotic pumps are amazing, great to have learned about them in detail.

I loved this, really good converstion. I found myself wanting to highlight most of this. Ecologists always are these big picture thinkers, it's great.

The biotic pump explanation was helpful for me, I admit, somewhat sheepishly, that Anastassia's posts are often a bit beyond what my brain can manage these days.

Awesome reading Douglas's recommendations about forest restoration too, I'd give him a hug if I met him, I feel better about what I'm doing after reading this.

Thank you, thank you Douglas and Alpha

This is fascinating information speaking as someone with no scientific training but with a little experience in landscape restoration and urban flood mitigation and some experience with regenerative ag, in so far as its supreme importance in rural areas to build carbon in the soil and to grow nutritious food. This all as part of a much bigger program to build sustainable rural communities using the One Planet Living framework. Increasing the amount of vegetation in newly built urban areas and building healthy soils as part of the cooling system and flood mitigation is crucial, but has proven very hard to sell.
